Tonia d'Amelio

Tonia d'Amelio has sung professionally in the Bay Area with the Philharmonia Chorale,
San Francisco Opera Chorus, AVE, inQuire, and Volti, among others. She is a founding
member of the Oakland-based Pacific Collegium, a chamber ensemble specializing in
liturgical and concert performance of music from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. A
native of New York City, Tonia holds a M.M. in voice from the San Francisco
Conservatory of Music and a B.A. in music from Harvard University, where she sang
Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and the title role in Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea
. During her time at SFCM, she participated in the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater
Institute, singing Blondchen in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail. She was featured last
season as the soprano soloist in the Vaughan Williams g-minor Mass with the American
Bach Soloists, as Branghien in Frank Martin's Le vin herbé with the City Concert Opera
Orchestra, and with the Pacific Collegium singing Vivaldi's Nulla in mundo pax sincera.
