Tiffany Cromartie
Tiffany Cromartie made her professional opera debut as Gilda in Rigoletto with
Shreveport Opera, after graduating from Southern Methodist University, Meadows School
of the Arts. Highlights of her operatic credits include Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Susanna
and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Anna Gomez (The Consul),
Lauretta and Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Baby Doe (Ballad of Baby Doe), Marika (Points of
War - premiere), Norina (Don Pasquale), Anne Page (Merry Wives of Windsor), Papagena
(Die Zauberflote), Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore), Jou-Jou (Merry Widow), and Zerlina (Don
Giovanni). Musical Theater roles have included Maria in Sound of Music and Laurey in
Oklahoma. As a recital artist, Tiffany has given concerts in several cities across the United
States and abroad. Tiffany has been a featured soloist with the San Francisco Symphony
Chorus and also sings with the Philharmonia Baroque Chorale. With several other awards
to her credit, she was the winner of the National Opera Association Competition and was
named ‘Singer of the Year’. She appeared as a soloist on the nationally televised A&E
broadcast of “A Tribute to Stephen Sondheim”, as soloist in Mahler’s Fourth Symphony
with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra, and on the Berkeley Noon Concert Series singing
Bachianas Brasilieras No. 5. Most recently, Tiffany was heard singing Knoxville: Summer
of 1915 by Samuel Barber with the Livermore Amador Symphony, Stanford Symphony
Orchestra and with Symphony Parnassus. This is her first production wit City Concert
Opera Tiffany has also appeared in both musical theater and opera as a professional
dancer. A native of New Mexico, she now makes her home in the Bay Area.
